Phoenix East Rotary - A Message from the Club President

Welcome to the website for the PHOENIX East Rotary Club! Ours has been a very active club since it's original charter in 1962. We feel that we are a club that offers avenues of service for members of all ages, preferences and abilities. We are proud of our commitment to education and youth services. We have been very active in an on-going student of the month program with the Balsz School District. This program involves inviting three outstanding students each month to receive a student of the month certificate and each one receives $50.00. The students are recommended by their teachers. We also have a student from Paradise Valley High School each month. We are also doing a project for Seniors. We have just completed a "Senior Exercise Trail with Equipment" at Los Olivos Park. .

This year we provided over 700 dictionaries to the students and teachers of the Balsz and Wilson school districts. We also provided, for the second time, third grade dictionaries to students in Mexico. We also cleaned and painted two classrooms. We intend to continue this program, as well as expand it and brought them sporting equipment. We will donate medical supplies to the small Medical Clinic in Kino Bay. Bob’s Snack Shack, a rolling food service trailer built for our Interact club at Wilson was finally completed last year by some very dedicated members and is now in use! Also, we have partnered with the Arizona Game & Fish and are doing a couple of service projects with them.

One of our most rewarding projects has been the annual Christmas party for students of Balsz Schools. The annual Easter egg hunt will also be repeated and was a huge a success.

We do always welcome visiting Rotarians and those who might be interested in membership. I think you will find that we are a fun, warm, friendly club and look forward to meeting you.
